This week, I'm reading "Geek Love" by Katherine Dunn. While it's enjoyable reading ( the life and times of an albino hunchback midget born into a family of carnival freaks ), I can't decide whether it's well written or just exrtemely cliched and contrived. Like, it jumps around between time periods within the same chapter, and while it's an interesting way of telling a story, every other book I've read recently has used it. It seems like the writer was trying to be "edgy" with her writing style, and I'm not sure its entirely neccesary given the subject matter, or even truly edgy, as its been done countless times before. It also seems to focus an awful lot on snot.

Let's see, what else is new. I spent yesterday doing yardwork. Mowed the lawn, whacked the weeds, worked on my Ben affleck hate shrine. I'm debating sending in a application to Kevin smith to appear as an extra in "Jersey Girl, just so I can hate Affleck in person,a nd try to ruin his relationship with J-Lo, while putting the moves on Ms. Tyler. Muaahahahahahha. Okay, no chance for any of that happening. Boh.

Oh, and Stinky is currently rolling around on the floor with a bag of new boxer shorts that i got for my birthday. He's biting it, hugging it and nuzzling it. Very strange.
demolitionkitten:
that is an excellent book.
I mostly read -ography type books so I never really noticed the style. Plus I do not usually pay much attention to that shtuff. I like or I do not like.
