So after a nap and some asparin for my hangover, I went to see Kill Bill Vol. 2 with my sister, Kate. I loved the film, but in a very different way than the first. It's less like Versus meets Saturday Night Fever this time around, more like Buffalo '66 meets Full House meets 5 Fingers of Death. There was signifigantly less gore this time around, in fact, the film was kind of sweet in a "You always eviscerate the ones you love with Japanese steel and Shaolin Kung-Fu".

After the movie got out, Kate asked me if I'd be up for some thrift shopping. I was, but on a condition. Now, having spent the early morning making my way back to Lewiston from Portland with blood shot, photosensitive eyes, i found myself missing my old, skummy "white, southern sheriff" glasses, which actually coul fit over my regular glasses, so I could drive without going blind. Due to some old arrangement, Kate still owes me a pair of $1 sunglasses from a dollar store. If we were to go thrift shopping, she had to help me find some skummy sunglasses.

One Dollar Paradise in the Auburn (Dirt) Mall had scummy sunglasses, but they were all either the strip of feaux snakeskin 80s Rayban knock offs, those promotional Back To The Future 2 neon freakshows from like '89, or J-Lo style coke glasses, so no go there. The Family Dollar had a rack of sunglasses, but they were those crappy mid 90s style hippie glasses. Crappy mid 90s style hippie glasses make Baby Jeebus cry. There's one more dollar store in Lewiston, but I'm holding off on hitting it up until this afternoon.

I actually had better luck thrifting than Kate did. I found an old, well worn, short sleeve LL Bean flannel and a light blue Dickies garage shirt. There were too really nice western shirts, but as usual, they were too small. mad Ironically, the better of teh two shirts carried a "Big Man" clothing label. Maybe the short cowboys all die sooner, so there's far more of their clothes on the thrifting market? Oh well.

Today, I have to run, work on my thesis and maybe go sunglasses hunting again later. Hope you're all having a blast.
