Christmas was nice and low key this year, no church or family blow ups. I don't know what I'm doing for New Years yet. I'm sure there will be a party, either with the old guard or the Brunswick crew.
Its been an odd year. Not a lot of high points, but none of the lows are really noteworthy. Only had my heart broken once, but only had that one chance to have it broken, and even then, I knew I never really had a chance to begin with.
No one really close to me died, though some are on their way out. Johnny and June passed away, but the loss was less painful than Strummer's for me, because it wasn't as sudden or untimely.
I reconnected with one of my best friends ever, but also kicked one of my oldest friends out of my life after she ran out of second chances following years of excuses. Even then, there wasn't any drama, it just ended quietly.
It was a decent year for music with solid releases from the White Stripes, The Bronx, Guitarwolf, Outkast, Turbonegro, Rancid, The Distillers, and AFI, but nothing that really knocked my socks off.
There wasn't an international psycho rumble in the 'States this year, which was kind of disappointing. The Bronx put on the best show I saw this year, followed by the Rev and the Distillers, but I also had the misfortune of missing Rancid, Tiger Army, AFI and Mad Sin, so my oppinion could well have been different had I caught those shows, though the Bronx would still be near the top.
I'm thinking about letting my SG account run out again on the 7th. If you want to keep in touch, I have a live journal you can reach me at, and I'm also on myspace.com under the email address fightinmatt@hotmail.com.
