I've been coughing so hard in my sleep that I wake up with sore lungs. I'm normally very reluctant to take any kind of medication, but after the pain I felt yesterday morning, I decided to do something about it, and took some cough syrup.
Holy crap that shit brings back memories. No, I was never a robotripper. I just remember gagging on that stuff throughout my childhood.

Oh, I'm listening to Anthrax right now. Yep, "I'm the Man (def uncensored version)". I remember being in my friend Adam's room when I was eleven years old, listening to this, and being somewhat impressed, though i had to differ when they called themselves "the hardest ever", as I was really into Ministry, and was pretty sure Ministry were harder.
Metal mostly eluded me when I was younger. My older sister made sure I was listening to punk by the time I was ten, and I would have gotten clobbered and heckled constantly if I had shown any kind of interest in the genre. It was okay to respect Guns N Roses, AC/DC, and Metallica (until they went soft), but owning anything by any of them was essentially verboten. I didn't really discover Motorhead and just how much they own, until I was in my late teens. I never really liked Iron Maiden, though I've always thought Eddie was a great mascot. "Run For The Hills", of course, has its charms, and is now inexorably linked with my trip to Portland and associated in part with driving around with my friend Megan.
I couldn't appreciate Motley Crue, because the irony was lost when it was constantly being shoved down your throat. I had to wait until I stopped regularly seeing their ripped, pit stained t-shirts on mullets in the hall way of my school before I could sit on a porch with my friends drinking forties, throwing the goat, and screaming "SHOUT! SHOUT! SHOUT! SHOUTATTHE DEVIL!!!"
