So were any of you at The Burlington earlier this evening? If so, you got to hear me play some records for a little bit tonight. Hint: if you haven't bothered to look at my pictures here yet, I wasn't any of the white people or the Asian girl. I was the other dude playing New Order, The Long Blondes, Dusty Springfield, Sandie Shaw, and...

i never know anyone when i travel, expect for the people i work with [who will be working as well] so the extra passes always go to waste. hopefully you can finagle your schedule around to make it work!
sirkka:

Love Francoise Hardy and Iggy Pop, but this is just weird:

He at least better've been cutting himself and rolling around in his own blood while recording this.
sirkka:
but a good kind of weird, yes?

he's going to be super mad that i'm mentioning it, but chuck worked on the secret skull story in midnight pulp by steve niles, which i thought was fantastic but his art style has totally changed since then. he also did black metal with rick spears and i highly recommend it to everyone within earshot.
sirkka:
secret skulls can be difficult to attain. i have a steve niles anthology from idw that collects that story, plus wake the dead and a few others. that may be your best bet in getting them all at once, and you can't go wrong with steve niles anyway.
and let me know if you get a copy of black metal! i posted chuck's recommended listening one blog back to enhance the experience.

Hairscut, drinks, and this girls youtube vlog (which I think I'm addicted to, now, btw):

Sure it helps that she looks the way that she does, but rarely does one come into contact with a girl this attractive and yet has so much personality. Hell, I could even forgive the Lady Gaga reference (she did, after all, make up for it with the Snorks reference)....

i have no clue who says that kind of thing besides 21 year old boys who haven't dated since they were in high school haha. i really need to stop meeting dudes off of dating sites.

and i totally stay off face book (i deleted mine) for that kind of thing.

clean house. i stayed in the guest room while they did the taping. it was horrible. lines to use bathroom and waking you up early in morning and staying in your house til late at night. catering was good though. on style network. there is a clip of me on there website. plus they lie. said they would have someone take me to the doctor. one of the assistants but they didn't. paid for my cab though. it was a horrible experience. we all hated it. except one girl. she loved it. she watches it over and over. made us all watch it ten times a day. ugh it was so fake too. fed you lines to say. blackeyed

I had an unusually busy day yesterday. In the morning, I went to school to register for classes and am officially a grad student and (as is his lifelong tradition) took an absolutely butt-ugly school id picture. Right after that, I went downtown to the one store in the entire city that I knew would have the SG Guide To Living dvd and picked that...

aww thank you hon. i hope this is the wake-up call he needed, and he can learn to slow down before something more serious than a panic attack happens to him. he works for three law firms and does comic shows on the side, so i'm not sure how slow he's going to be, but i can only hope for baby steps right now. smile

and funny you should mention debbie harry, i was watching videodrome earlier and thought the same thing! great minds, man.
lewie:
thank you!

Tight list man. And to answer your question:

Aretha Frankin: "Respect" works everytime. If you don't like that, then "Chain of Fools" is a nice alternative.

Marvin Gaye: "Let's Get it on" by far the best choice. Then there's always "Got to Give it up".

Otis Redding: Not sure. Wilson Pickett on the other hand, "Land of 1000 dances" and "In the Midnight hour" are great songs.
rapaddict40:
No problem man. From one wedding DJ to another they are alot of fun.

So I'm convinced that my brief bout of violent illness I had earlier today was all about my pending job interview I had later and nothing to do with the copious amounts of alcohol and rump shaking that occurred the night before.

Yep, I'm convinced.

Also, after so many years after graduating college, I can still find myself relating to this movie:

That Freedy Johnston...

Thank you for all the wonderful recommendations! Though I'm still months away and will probably forget most of them.
