Lately I've noticed that when I'm feeling really insecure, alcohol and being surrounded by lots of friendly faces helps. Pot, however, usually results in me screaming at people uncontrollably (although they usually have it coming). Weird, huh? Honestly, though? I'm not sure which one ends with better results.
Any of you guys seen that car commercial where those people forget which side the gas-thing is on and some indie rock song is playing in the background? For whatever reason it reminds me of this roadtrip I took with some friends of mine a couple summers back down to see Loretta Lynn play her camp site/ranch-thing. It was kind of a turbulent weekend (I... Read More
Haha, that is a very rational fear to have. Although I haven't witnessed vomiting, I have seen a homeless dude just drop trou and pee on the El. That was an interesting experience..;
So I was a judge at a Battle Of The Bands at a local university the other night. It was fun, and it was just the distraction I needed from my life at the moment. I gotta tell ya, though, the other three judges were fucking clueless. Seriously, they gave first prize out to some band that looked like a cross between The Strokes and... Read More
Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against three adults enjoying themselves that way just so long as everyone's straight with one another about it. The person I'm talking about just sat back stunned when she didn't hear back from the guy and seriously thought that this would be the way to win him over. It's not the fact that she did it that makes me so mad, it's the fact that he talked her into doing something that she normally wouldn't do and that she talked herself into doing it thinking it would win this guy over. If everyone would've been straight with one another about it, that would've been fine, but the way it all worked out in the end was that he got everything he wanted out of it, while all she ended up with is a pretty shitty feeling.
So I'm watching this short film from the mid-'90s earlier this evening and I couldn't help but think that this thing might as well have been from the '60s fer crying out loud. It just seems so long ago...I was able to drive and I was even able to vote and buy cigarettes. It's just weird 'cause seems like an entirely different era looking back... Read More
great point! i never really thought of it that way - but it is pretty self-indulgent...but, it's a necessary indulgence...i don't know that there's any way to get out of it, except to feel it and watch the line between indulgence and pity.....
Never in my entire life did I ever think I would get a chance to see Mary Lou Lord's nipples. I don't know how to post pictures (from her myspace page), but...
I dj-ed my first wedding last Saturday and it was a blast! I was kind of a last minute fill-in, but I didn't care! Moreover, the bride (an old, old friend of mine whom I've known since she got her license taken away for using a fake) is in this local band that's doin' pretty well for itself (they've made the cover of a number... I haven't been to one since I was in high school (in fact, it was the very same one I used to go to back when I was in high school. I was stunned it was still even there!) and it was soooooooooo much fun! It was a bit less than an hours drive outside the city, but... Read More
