So I started 4 fires in the lab today. Damn potassium...Good thing I had the ol' liquid nitrogen handy to smother the flames (they were precariously close to the 4 liter drum of organic waste solvents).
Off to Kelowna tommorow for the Western Canada Inorganic Chemistry Discussion weekend. All in all it sounds like it would be a fun weekend except for all the chemistry. I'm driving my group (Kelly, Hanh and Andrea) first thing in the morning, and we scored a sweet 4-bedroom apartment for the weekend.
Was supposed to hang out with Cat last night, but she didn't answer her phone, or return the call. Went to the ol' Rat & Parrot instead, where I was duped into drinking more than I had intended by Cat's twin's bf. Worked out ok though, had a good night.
Wrestled with whether or not to call her tonight to try to squeeze in a get-together before Kelowna. I don't know what the "rule" is for calling a girl you're interested in, how frequently etc. I certainly don't call her too frequently, but it's never good to look too eager. In the end, I'm no good at playing games of this type though, and end up going with my heart. And so, I left another message for her. Another call that went unreturned. I'm going to restrain myself from making a big deal (or any sort of deal) about this, but damn things would've been easier if she'd called back. There's nothing more denigrating than unreturned phone calls (okay, maybe not nothing)...
