I grew up in NC. Central NC. We didn't get snow. Well, if someone saw a flurry. A FLURRY being the important part of that sentence then everyone called everyone else that they knew and everyone met up at the grocery store and bought out all the milk, bread and toiletpaper. Now, we only had snow actually once in the 16 years that I lived there and that was gone the next morning...so I never understood the rush to the grocery store. Plus, even if we did live somewhere that got huge snowstorms that lasted for weeks (which was actually the fear) then why get bread and milk? I mean, those are the things that go bad the fastest, right? It was the drama factor. People love drama.

So I've been in NYC for 6 years and I'm still not over my fascination with snow. I'm the first to run outside and make snow angels and snow people in the lawn in front of the building that I work in. The other day I made the worlds smallest snowperson (according to me.) It was like 11" tall. Why do people always assume that you have to make snowpeople 6' tall? I only had like 10 minutes to get lunch and make said snowperson...so I made a small one. Returning with my lunch a few minutes later I saw people taking pictures of it. The one day I didn't carry my camera (which generally lives in my bag.) Oh well... Perhaps tomorrow... All I want to do it go play in the snow!!!

BTW, I made snowcream the last time it snowed (a few weeks ago) and you CAN make an Atkins version. It is actually pretty yummy.

Snow
cream and/or unsweetened soy milk (vanilla or chocolate)
Splenda
vanilla

Mix. Smear all over yourself and let someone lick it off...

:::you can tell where my mind is:::

I will see if I can find pictures of my last adventure with the snowcream.

Unfortunately, I fell prey to the balmy nearly-60' sunshine yesterday and took some distinctly unwarm clothes with me last night and didn't have time to go home this morning and change...so my evening plans to go to The Moth will have to be postponed, which makes me sad because I heart the Moth and I heart my friend who was going to go with me. He makes me realize that people truly are fabulous and that I should spend more time with them.

I have joined the hordes addicted to ringtones. I swear, I'm shocked that I didn't before being the DJ and all, but I thought that they were 1) a dumb way to get more money from people and 2) sounded like crap. Which are both valid points. That said, the ringtones on my cell phone are SO BAD that I resorted to just using the vibrate function and since I almost always wear skirts/dresses there aren't many (un-obscene) places to put a cell phone where the vibrate function does all that much. This has been an Issue for as long as I've had this phone (like 7 months) and for some reason at 5:30 this morning I just had to do something about it. So give me a call and I can hear "99 Luftballoons" tinkling out of my phone... :::bliss:::

I want to go play in the snow. I want to go boarding.
