My internal clock is so F'd up right now. I got back from my trip about 4pm on Friday and tried to keep myself up as long as possible, as I was already crashing (bedtime in Germany). I ended up dozing off about 9pm and sleeping until 11am Saturday. Unfortunately, I was tired all day and wide awake all last night. Ugh...must stay awake. I'll probably try to catch up on some work.
Just got back from the mall to buy a tie and jacket for my stupid friend's stupid wedding. Well, I wish him the best and all, but no one in his social circle seems to like his wife. I dunno about her...she's awfully flirty with other guys, insanely jealous of other women, and bosses him around like he's a kid. I just don't get it, but as long as he's happy. =/ That being said, I'm less than excited about having to spend money on new stuff for this event. I'd much rather have a new MP3 player...which I almost left the mall with!
Germany was quite interesting. I was in Leipzig -- former Eastern Bloc. You could still see evidence of the Communist era...ugly, dreary buildings that probably used to be factories or some such. These were in juxtaposition to WWII era apartments, pseudo-Gothic commercial buildings, and modern highrises. There was no rhyme or reason to their placement...just kinda plopped down wherever there was space, like some shitty SimCity map.
The work portion, was well...work...I was attending a convention, but the social aspects were nice. The beer was amazing...especially the pilsners Wernesgruner and Ur-Koertitzer (sp?). I didn't find any of the huge steins of beer strapped to some buxom Bavarian woman, but I suppose it's quality, not quantity.
One night, I couple of mega-wealthy Dutch guys kidnapped our group and took us to a German discotek called "Strauhaus" or something. It was pretty awesome...great DJ, sexy go-go dancers, tons of people on the dancefloor and at the bar...fog, lasers, strobes...everything you could want. Our group was buying shots for the half the bar, because they were so cheap...about $1 each. It was a blast...I haven't been clubbing in way too long.
My hotel was way out in the sticks, but next year, I know where to stay...a place called "Parkhotel Seaside"...funny name considering the closest "Sea" is 400 miles away or therabouts.
...but, it's in party central, or very close to it. My hotel also only had 1 English-speaking person and she only worked from about midnight-8am, so if I wanted anything, I had to ask during that window. She was really cute though...very pretty face, glasses, sweet. I was the only person in the bar most nights, so we ended up drinking and talking for a few hours. Actually, I was drinking and talking and she was trying hard to act interested.

You're also lucky to be in a position to go to SGSF events! My mom lives out there, maybe one of these days I'll crash a party.
I need to have that philosophy on anger because I would end up crazy otherwise. I paid the whole thing that I really didn't have to pay because it was their mistake, but if they would have taken legal actions it would be worse. I can't fight a huge health insure corporation, and I can't pay a lawyer, so... better to be in debt with my uncle that with them!
