To add insult to injury, not only did I have to go to L.A. last week, I also brought back some sort of plague. Ugh...I'm so damn sick...and it will not go away...on day 5 and still feel as bad as I did Day 1.
What's been going on...hmmmm. Well, now that I'm gainfully employed, I've been trying to put myself "out there" with respect to dating. Unfortunately, there isn't much opportunity at the workplace. Not only is interoffice dating just a bad idea (speaking from experience), most of my co-workers are married with children or simply have no interest. I'm getting too old to go clubbing and bar hopping...most of the women I meet at the clubs are much younger and I come off as some sort of lecherous creep. Most, not all, of the equal age or older women I meet are looking to settle down. On top of it, if you're 30 and not attached, some may think there is something wrong with you. Being single used to depress the shit outta me, but now I don't care. WIth my hobbies and work, I can easily fill up 20 hours a day with activity.
My sister had another kid last week...her third. She's only 25 and it seems her life is already planned out for her. She had 2 daughters several years ago and now she has a son. My family kind of drifted apart after my mother died, so I haven't actually met them. I just get updates through mutual friends. I'm not sure why we don't speak anymore. Her ex husband used to get drunk and beat on her once in awhile...last time we spoke, I told her he'd better hope we never cross paths. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm not a violent person, but there are just some lines you don't cross...and that piece of shit crossed it.
Well, I need to rest...I'm burning up with a fever and it looks like it's gonna be a hot day.
