Where to begin...hmmm. Got roped into a side project at work, so I've been working most of my weekend. Okay, I admit I haven't been sitting in front of the computer grinding, but I've been thinking about work...what I'm gonna do...what I'm gonna say. It's tough to relax, ya know?
I looked in my wallet this morning and I realized that my friend's girlfriend, the bartender, was giving me free beers all Friday night...I gave her money, and she'd just give me "change"...which evidently was exactly what I gave her. That's a nice surprise..I'm glad I tipped well! She really likes me...I mean not in THAT way...but I'm the only friend of theirs that's a positive influence.
Wow, that sounded stupid...
So I randomly loaded up Yahoo messenger today...with an account that I considered long dead...and I "ran into" a girl I used to date...maybe 6 or 7 years ago. In that time, she'd been married, had a kid, then divorced. I'm very happy for her, but she was starting to get very familiar with me again...wanted my phone number...pictures..etc. I didn't give them to her...there's just no point. She was one of my favorites, but I don't think there is a chance of us getting back together. We broke up for good reasons. It really blew me away though and only reinforces my feelings of all my friends "growing up" and leaving me in the dust.
Before I beat that old horse again, I'll move on. My roommate and I both picked up Tetris for the DS Lite...he repeatedly kicks my ass as it...must get better... When I was a kid, I was like one of the best gamers in my school...a dubious honor. Last time I went into an arcade...prolly 5 years ago...I got my ass handed to me by some 10 year old. I walked out and never looked back. Those "twitch" skills are dwindling, old man...time to get a new hobby.
