Not sure I tried this here or not but I posted this on facebook and got a great response so here goes.
Imagine you're out and about with your friends and loved ones. Suddenly EVERYONE around you's phone rings at the same time. Everywhere you look you can hear phones ringing and see people answering them at the same time. You answer your own phone as does your friends and are greeted with the following message:
"Greetings people of Earth. I am Kozar a liason of the Interstellar Alliance. My intentions are not hostile in any way, I simply wish to make an offer to all of the people of your planet. The Interstellar Alliance would like Earth to join it's ranks and in so doing Earth would have representation in the Alliance as well as unfettered access to our technological and historical databases. You will be free to use the knowledge gained in any way you see fit. If you accept our offer you will be tasked to elect two people from your planet to travel to the Alliance council to represent your planet in Alliance matters. However, Earth must submit completely to Interstellar Alliance law. All countries will be dissolved, all leaders must immediately step down, all constitutions are null and void. This message has been sent to every individual on Earth capable of receiving it technologically and every member of Earth will be able to send a "yes" or "no" reply directly to me. Once everyone has chosen we will tally the votes in order to ascertain what Earth has decided. I eagerly await your reply."
How do you answer? Yes or no?
