I actually had a pretty decent holiday. I got to see/talk to family I hadn't been with in years, ate some decent food and got to vent a lot about what's been bugging me for the last few weeks.
First off, my wife's car is dead, dead, dead. We thought we could just fix the transmission and that would be the end of it but the engine decided it wanted to fail as well. How? It won't start and we have no idea why. Even if we did though, we don't have enough money to fix it and at this point it just isn't worth it anymore. I could potentially be looking at a $1,500-$2,000 repair bill and we could just get another car for that.
Next is the near constant onslaught of medical bills. My wife has quite a lot of medical expenses built up thanks to her leg/hip and now I got a bill from the doc who saw my daughter a month ago when she was sick for $170. Naturally I got that today. Happy fucking holiday right?
The day itself was a welcome relief from the build up to it and now I get to tackle everything that is bothering me head on with a belly full of turkey and stuffing. Fuck that, I'm taking a nap.
