At 12 o'clock noon this Thursday 14th July, there's going to be a scheduled 2-minute silence in the UK to remember the victims of the bombs which exploded last week in London.
Buses will stop, businesses will stop, everything will stand still for two minutes.
It is not only a gesture of compassion, sympathy and remembrance, but one of defiance and unity.
Personally, as so many of us over the world have been affected by random acts of terrorism (Bali bombing, September 11, Madrid - to name a few), I think that this should be a global gesture - not just restricted to the UK.
So wherever you are at midday UK-time tomorrow (9pm - Sydney, 7am - New York, 1pm - Madrid, 6pm - Bangkok) go out on to the streets, and observe the silence there, in public. The whole of the world, standing on our streets, which we will always own and defend, in silence.

If only this were a global event. It would make it that much easier to find the terrorists, they would be the ones making all the noise.
