hello sweet things.....
well plaid were incredible! such a shame the sound system didn't do them the justice they deserved. this is the 4th time i've seen them now and i do wish they would play a little more like their albums suggest they might. every time i see them i don't recognise 60% of the set and it's kind of a full on hardcore techno sonic assult, which isn't so bad, but if their albums were like that,i probably wouldn't buy them. and just once...please could they play 'squance'!!!!!!!
the festival as a whole was pretty dissapointing...it just felt really badly organised......but did i mention i saw plaid?
the new bjork album came out yesterday which is always an amazing treat. as with every bjork album i'm never too sure what to make of it at first....but after a few listens the genius behind it comes flooding out. this one is a real experiment with the vocal chords....some very very strange noises to be found within the stunning soundscapes. if you were hoping for another 'post' and found 'vespertine' a little too experimental for your tastes...i suggest you don't bother with this album. it kind of makes 'vespertine' sound like the poppiest of all pop albums......i fucking love this women..always doing what you least expect! she is such a musical genius!!
so before i get too carried away with bjork....! i hope you all had fun over the weekend and got into lots of trouble. me i'm still recovering and it feels like it may take a while.
if any of you are interested....i'm dj ing in brixton this coming friday (3rd sept) at the telegraph on brixton hill. the night is called 'enter break space' and covers pretty much every aspect of breaks music. if you would like to come then let me know before friday 5pm and i'll put your username and as many people you want to bring on the concessions guest list which is 5. i think i'm playing at about 3am. hopefully i will see some of you there.
take care
see ya
