Friday: Longest Entry EVER.

1. I've had such a busy week that I keep putting off the things about which I want to write, so I guess today's the day. Besides, it'll give you all something to do over the weekend. biggrin

2. So since I dropped a deposit at Adorned and booked time with Steph to really tackle my backpiece, I've been going back and forth from "WOOHOO!" to "Holy FUCK what am I doing". I mean, let's be honest here - this ain't a rose on my ankle. *gulp*

Anyway, one of the main concerns revolving around all this is Dan's Mother. Suffice to say she's prim and proper, and likes me to look like I walked straight out of a Talbots catalog. Obviously she understands that I'm not the little princess she imagined her darling boy to end up with, and I know she loves me anyway, but this really isn't gonna fly with her. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I fully expect tears.

However.

When we caught up with her last weekend, Dan's mother had been in Rochester for a few days for 'surgery'. She had recently had some medical complications, and we assumed it was a follow-up procedure or something along those lines. We were way off. Turns out she had a face lift, ear work (?!) and an eye tuck. Now, don't get me wrong - if you're into that kind fo thing, or you think you need it or whatever... knock yourself out. Whatever blows your skirt up. But I, frankly, find it a little creepy. And needless to say, Dan's sufficiently freaked out by the whole situation. We're afraid what we're going to see the next time we're at dinner.

The point is, I feel that her shelling out thousands upon thousands of dollars to be unconscious and under the knife for seven hours for a purely cosmetic purpose... well, it pretty much negates any disapproval my pending backpiece.

Right?

Creepy.

3. Lunch with Dad yesterday was super fabulous. After walking around SoHo for a lil' bit, we decided upon Peep. They have an insanely delicious and shocklingly inexpensive lunch menu, and we put away three appetizers, two entrees, two drinks and a dessert for $45 including tip. For awesome Thai food in New York City, that's ridonkulous.

4. Dad and I also happened to stroll into the Paul Frank store on the way to feed the meter, and I found the world's cutest Spicoli Slippers. Fast forward to 3p that afternoon - Dad calls me from the road to tell me to go pick up my slippers at the store counter! He went back and BOUGHT them for me! How fabulous is that? I mean, I AM Daddy's Little Girl. tongue

5. I'm thinking of permanently switching from morning coffee to morning tea. Yesterday I didn't drink my usual morning cuppa joe, and by the end of the day I was dizzy and out of it. Classic caffeine withdrawal symptoms. It freaked me right the fuck out! Besides, tea is better for you and it doesn't promote yellow teef. biggrin

6. I changed my profile pic from young and cutsey to current and scurry. To quote Irina: cheekbones of doom! Plus, I'm making the cat-ass face for which I'm famous. Classy all around.

7. I've recently been updating the illustrious wishlist. Deleted some things, added others. It's interesting to see my tastes change as I get older... I never thought I'd be a wine buff. What's next, golf? puke

8. Feel free to peruse and abuse said wishlist at your leisure.

9. Super duper sad that I can't make it out to Reading, PA this weekend. If you're one of the fortunate ones, have a blast and take a bunch of pictures.

10. Last night, I made some kick ass spinach sauce with tons of onions and garlic. It wasn't for dinner, but for my lunches at work. It makes my day go a little smoother when there's good food to get me through... as opposed to PBJ or lunch-in-a-can. So yeah - today for lunch it's organic whole wheat pasta, al dente, swimming in homemade spinch tomato sauce. oink

11. Speaking of oink , Fat Girls is BLOWING UP! Jump on that bandwagon, ladies.

12. Tonight will be another date night for the man and me. Taro again (natch), but this time we'll be seeing Sin City. Then, sex. blush

13. If you are anywhere near New York (or will be on Saturday), BE AT THE OPEN CALL. If for no other reason, to meet me in person. I may even do a woo-woo shot with you.

On that note, chitlins - I'm off to earn my keep. Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to set your clocks ahead on Sunday at 2a. I'll try to remember between cocktails. wink

Now the sex may have been great, but did it even compare to Sin City? How great was that movie?
