A conundrum:

So, my boyfriend and I are in the can't-get-enough-of-eachother stage (going on 5 months). Things are great, and I'm very happy.

My lease runs up in July. I was going to sign on for another year, but the boy has brought up the topic of moving in together. Now, as apprehensive as I am, it seems like a really good idea for many reasons. I'm just terrified that it will end up in tragedy, with one of us homeless and both of us heartbroken. This has happened to me before - what a nightmare.

Now. Am I being dramatic, or am I being smart? Should I sign my lease for another year and take it easy, or throw caution to the wind and jump in? Both have their pros and cons....but I'm very confused about it all.

yeah..
go with your heart.. It's hard to do, but it's not wrong.

Hay.. and it's great to hear someone say that things are great and they are happy. That really rocks..

Everyone's hit on different, and equally important, aspects of the moving in together debate. But as a fellow city cat, I can attest that finding and paying for an apartment in NYC is a bitch, and as awful as it sounds, the economics of the situation need to be taken into account. That is, do you really like your current place, is it a good deal, where are you and your boyfriend going to live? NYC real estate is pretty unforgiving when the can't-get-enough stage runs its course. That said, my girlfriend and I have been living together for the past year and it's been great. Hopefully your can't-get-enough stage doesn't run out!
Forgot to mention- love your favorite movie, it was the first movie i ever cried at as a kid (when they all split up to look for jobs)
