As you may have heard, I am in the middle of an academic/scholastic issue with my school.
1. I'm not saying I'm the best or greatest academic or writer, but I do think I have academic merit and show potential.
2. I believe that based on my direct coaching and remediation from my professors, this product is what they asked me to perform.
3. Based on this direct instruction this is what I learned:
- Where the past preliminary panel questions came into the research and the presentation (and how they were not subjective but questions about objective methodology)
- What the commonalities were between the papers and how they can be used for future research.
- About proper methodology and how important it is to use many different and new articles to support your research, instead of hanging on to older, irrelevant theories or statistical insignificance.
I'm asking you to do two things:
1) Read my prelim if you have time, provide your email below for a copy.
2) Send a paper letter or email to the dean of my school describing my character and academic integrity. (I will provide email when I send my prelim.)
Reasons why I would ask this of you:
1) I have never received explicit, in detail, written responses from individual faculty members upon the weaknesses of any of my preliminary attempts.
2) I have had to submit my paper under my own name which may elicit bias from some instructors.
3) Throughout this process: I have had cops called on me, I have had my health insurance removed without notice, I have taken a pay cut to $100 a week in my graduate position, I have not been able to access my funds in my Cavalier Advantage card nor have they been returned to me from the school, I have not been able to access toolkit to complete remedial courses that the professors recommended me to take to improve my test score, and the list continues on in a denial of basic student rights that have been denied to me in this process of attempting my degree.
4) I still have teachers who like and support me at the school (in the Tests and Measurements and Social Foundations areas) and all I ask is for my M.Ed in gifted education based on the work that I completed in good standing and to be transfered into the Social Foundations program so that my gifts and academic abilities can be utilized in a more positive manner towards my degree.
Please pass this on to everyone you know who may know me, the more the better.
