Why is the Brisus excited today?
1) The devil bike is almost done! Pics to come!
2) I found a piercer in town who does dermals and is only going to charge me $50 or less per each so I can bedazzle my clavicle this summer.
(Pics also to come!) I'm very happy about this one because it means I can get piercings over the...

Ugh - I hate graduation weekend... Now I know why my parents never attended any of mine. Which retrospectively I'm happy about. And is it SO wrong of me to have an evil little smirk that they made everyone sit outside in the rain. *snicker* Yes... I'm bad, I know.
And it's not as if I DIDN'T graduate, I did, I just hate my experience...

My phone broke and it will take longer than reading the unedited version of Steven Kings The Stand to get it fixed.

Yay for people who know Carbon Leaf! And on site too.
Well you being from Virginia would explain it. (I'm from NoVa, I'm a recent transfer to the west coast.)
Socks are actually a whole lot easier than they look. Drafting the pattern was the complicated part, because it meant having to figure out the right gauge for the yarn, the number of stitches to cast on, where to do the decreases, what heel, gusset and toe to use, etc. But after I had the pattern all figured out it turned out to be a pretty quick knit, especially since it's a larger gauge on needles that aren't super tiny and lace socks inherently knit up faster. I knit that sock in a day, even though I was figuring it out as I went along.

I love the new hair! It looks great!
Finally a new post!
I am super excited because a play/musical I wrote a loooooong time ago (2001) is now being considered to be funded through the Sloane Foundation and maybe, just maybe shown through Manhattan Theatre Club. I'm crossing my fingers that this works out because 1) it means I get paid to write plays which is pretty darn cool and 2) it means...

w00t! Good omen? I found my program from the original workshop production yesterday.
And as for doing the Shakespeare/Firefly/Bollywood production, of COURSE! I'd be helping you do it if it didn't get passed. But it IS getting passed - and your musical is going to be funded. I has spoken.

I've done haikus in my past blogs. Next I will attempt a sonnet of some kind.

LOL - I love the Fruity Oaty Bar shirt. Very cool.
On the music front, while mowing the lawn today (Yup, mowing the lawn) I was listening to Michael Nesmith's Magnetic South, and it occurred to me it's pretty Firefly/Serenity-esque music for the most part. You might check it out. And yes, that's Michael Nesmith the same guy who played in The Monkees. I'd check out "Little Red Rider" and "Mama Nantucket" in particular, although I get a real kick out of "Calico Girlfriend Samba." My favorite of his solo work, however, has to be "Light" off of Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma. It's not very Firefly, but it's a little spacey.

NERD ALERT:
Just played with the Facebook Konami Code and now I'm a little sad there's not one for SG.
I don't know what special thing it would do, I was just hoping the level of geekiness was high and there was like something funny with boobies or somethting...

I had the best night tonight! (Aside from Virginia being threatened to be devoured by torrential rain/floods/tornados!)
Me and two of my guy friends went out to Twisted Tea Bazaar, had some Yerba Mate tea in a gourd, had some rose hookah, talked a lot about families, religion, community, life... It was grand.
Everything is awesome.
I want more of this and less of everything...

Sounds like a great night. :-) The rain has been killing us down here, too. It only lets up long enough to make you think maybe it's over, then BOOM - massive cloudburst.

Toxic Dreams!
Which means I need to stop eating dinner late at night!
Although this one time was a good excuse. I went to the season launch party at Live Arts and it was awesome! Full of yummy canapes and alcohol and good friends.
Anyway, I had two "toxic" dreams last night. Which means I ate food that is bad for me and I'm stressed...

Revamping my "As You Like It" proposal - I need song ideas for the playlist.
The style is Bollywood/Steampunk (the peasants in the countryside are brightly colored dancers, the royalty is stuffy, aristocratic, black and white) - I'm stealing a bit from "Firefly" too since there is a great deal of outlaws and people trying to run away from the royalty and their oppression.

OK so I'm having trouble remembering all the details so some of the suggestions might not fit, but here ya go anyway:
Phebe loves Ganymeade theme - Soul Bossa Nova - Quincy Jones(also know as the "Austin Powers Theme")
I have some other ideas, but I have to find the proper names of the songs.
