Firstly, thank you all for your kind responses to my last quickie blog 
it really underlines the fact that the friendships i've made in this community are real and i really value them quite a bit!
so my nap turned into a complete conk-out that lasted until the boyfriend got home. not so good for the job-hunt. but i think my lil bit of the flu is gone, i feel much, much better
so, valentine's day. i think it can be kind of a sweet holiday, especially when i used to help my brother plan v-day activities and presents for his HS girlfriend. however, as an adult, i feel that one should express love for one's partner on a daily basis. i would rather have a steady stream of year-round little surprises (like bringing home a half pint of my favorite ice cream or a silly card just because) than a huge celebration on one day of the year.
love is all year round.
there have been a couple songs that have been stuck in my head lately, and they're kinda valentine-y. and so, youtube videos:
i adore this song. Dean Martin gets stuck in my head for days at a time.
Ella Fitzgerald gets stuck in a loop on a regular basis as well
and old blue eyes...
i got home from my massage last night (i get them every once in a while because they seem to keep my migraines at bay, at least for a while) to find a 'present corner' in the kitchen:
this included a rose, a lil box of chocolates, champagne, and my favorite muffins
there was also a card that i just loved
so yesterday was a pretty good day, all told. after dinner we snuggled in and watched Chuck, one of our favorite shows, and Law & Order reruns. it was low-key and very 'us'.
this morning i woke up ridiculously early (for me, anyway). i was awake at about 5, but tried to sleep for a bit longer. when i couldn't, i got up to troll around on the interwebs. every time i wake up early, for any reason, this song pops into my head:
so i was humming that to myself while editing pictures for later blog-posting.
first we have my toes. i combined two colors to get a fantastic sparkly 'blue steel' color. love.
i got a haircut. it looks almost the same as my old haircut, but it lays nicer. obligatory vanity shots.
and then this morning, moments after dragging myself from bed. apologies for the lack of makeup
i hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday, whether you celebrated or not. i will be back with more inane blabber after i get home from IL.
oh and i get to see my Amarena !!!! *spazzy happy dance*
