*sigh* i was going to celebrate my epic victory over my hair by taking some possibly-sexy boobage pics and some hilarious pictures of my kitties in their christmas sweaters. i even got all dolled up and everything. and then i went to turn boyfriend's camera on and found that the batteries were dead. as i am not strictly supposed to be playing with the uber-expensive camera without asking first (and also, i suspect, without supervision, 'cause i'm, like, 5 whatever ), that plan will have to be postponed. however, since i got myself all excited about posting something exciting, i have decided to share a story from my childhood (well, okay, from high school) to give y'all a better idea of how ridiculous i am.

a little background: i really dislike birds. they freak me out, with their beady little eyes and their sharp beaks that are oh so good for pecking soft bits of flesh. plus they fly way too close to my head, and they poop from above. *shudder*

when i was about 16, i went to Disney World (my most favorite place) with my family-Mom, Dad, and 3 younger bros. we went to the Animal Kingdom park, where some genius decided that they should let these crazy large birds roam freely about the (otherwise gorgeous) park.

my parents stopped us to look at a map and we ended up standing by a little hut selling turkey legs. i wasn't really paying much attention to anything but the map, but when i finally looked up from it thisthing...had appeared. i dont know what kind of bird it was, but it had long legs and a long pointy beak and looked generally to be not in a good mood. and then the people around us started feeding bits of turkey leg to this birdwhich is totally bird cannibalism and wrong in so many different ways. and then all the turkey leg people got up and left, leaving my family standing there within 10 feet of this still-hungry bird. no one in the family but me had noticed the thing yet (however, none of them have an "irrational" fear of birds either, so they probably wouldn't have been bothered if they had).

the thing is just standing there, staring in our direction, as i got more and more anxious. finally, it hops toward us. and i yelped and hid behind my dad. and then it hopped again, and i began searching for escape routes. the last time it hopped toward us, i went crazy with terror and anticipation. i screamed (fully screamed, in the middle of a crowded amusement park): its got the taste for meat! we have to leave NOW!! eeek

and then i turned my back on my family and walked away (okay, okay, i ran away blush ). i stopped after i had gone about 30 feet, turned around, and saw that my family was standing in the exact same place, looking at me like i was a lunatic that they had never seen before.

.....and that is probably one of my least embarrassing stories......
