I'm not familiar with the social custom that says an ex's friend is off-limits... or am I misreading the relationship? Seeing as the ex, from what you say, doesn't seem to even be that interested in you anymore I doubt it would hurt his feelings. Personally were I in your place, I'd go for it. Why mope about a lost chance over a not-even-universally-held "rudeness" of dating an ex's friend?

The chicago nat history museum is incredible. But i'm really stoked to get to go to the science museum here in the park. I haven't had time to do anything since i've gotten here =(
