So, today I sit at my desk, the desk I have called "Home" to my work for about 10 years, off and on, and full-time for the last 4 years.

Today, I tell them that I am quitting. I am moving on.

Sadly, I LOVE my job. I really like the people I work with, I consider them all my friends. I love the work I do, the opportunities I have been given, basically, everything about this job.

Except the Boss.

Now, as a person, he is a good man. He is a nice, personable guy with a good sense of humor and a willingness to help others.

As a boss, not so much. He has been threatening to cut salaries for about 18 months now (no raises for anyone in almost 4 years) and he complains (tells the staff) how the business is losing money. Then he tells me the same thing. Forgetting that I oversee his bookkeeper. So, I know the truth.

So, another company approached me, made me a lucrative offer, and I accepted it yesterday. I am excited about the new company, the new position, the new work.

But, I am still sad about leaving here. I don't know how this will effect my relationships with my coworkers and friends.
