So I got really really lucky in the stock market over the last couple of months, making a bet on a stock that has gone up about 600% since August. Hey it is not all good... I lost a huge chunk of money on this same stock in 2001 but that money is gone to me now.
So, with my windfall I paid some bills, funded my Roth IRA and..... am outfitting my house with the type of Film/Media setup I have always wanted but could never afford. New Plasma TV (old ones goes to the Master Bedroom), new audiophile grade reciever, audiophile grade speakers all around, playstation 3 with blue ray player, and professionals to come and wire the remote subwoofer and rear surround speakers in the ceiling. Total cost? Hmmmm too much but not as much as you might think...
So it is not all setup yet but I have the Playstation setup and watched my first Blue Ray movie on my old TV (new one has not arrived yet). Beautiful.... just beautiful. The other nice thing about the PS3 other than movies and games? It synchronizes via my internal WiFi network to my PC and streams my music, photo's, video's to the PS3, TV, Stereo....
I make playlists on the computer the PS3 streams them and I sit back and enjoy a nice evening of music while browsing family photo's with my girl. It is quite impressive...
Other than that not much else going on.

whoa your blog is alot of tech-talk, i have my dad for that stuff. i'm glad things went well for you this time. i'd love to invest some moeny for upcoming school costs, but i don't want to lose it, so for now it sits. doing nothing. sighs. because even safe stocks aren't doing the best right now, my dad says. i know nothing about money either. geeze i lead a sheltered life...
