What started off with a stuffy nose late Friday night gradually turned into a full blown cold by Sunday, just what I need for a con weekend. Especially embarrassing were people coming up to the table and asking me "is that your real voice?". That and snuffling non stop and dabbing loads of Purell on my hands in between sneezes.

Today is stumbling around the house, knocking my 10-sizes-too-big head against doorways, trying to write many scripts but instead settling for cleaning my pig-sty office and eating soup. APE was awesome and I am really fired up to start some work. Maybe a Sudafed or seven will help.

Brett Warnock grandly gestured to the entire Top Shelf triple-table and demanded I take for free whatever I want. Of course, I feel self-conscious at offers like that and only made off with Mini-Sulk and a replacement copy of Goodbye, Chunky Rice. James L Jones made me a smiliar offer, and I scored Sharknife and the new Lost At Sea. Corey The Rey blew my mind with Sharknife - its like comics from another, way, way cooler planet than Earth. My eyes were swimming, and in a cool way.

As always, it was nice to spend time with Rob G, Rick Spears, and Becky. Rob G was foolishly selling Couriers 3 pages for only $25 each, but he let me have the "Special kicks Moustafa's ass" page for free. Becky and I competed to see who has more work planned for the next several years (i think she won), and I answered the question: "will there be a Couriers 4?" a hundred times at least. (The answer is, I don't know, but definetly not this year).

The mini-comic "test" preview of Rick and Rob's DEAD WEST is pretty great - I'm not a huge fan of Westerns in comics form, but in Rob's hand the art gives it a certain something that I find really compelling. Rick's background in film has never been more obvious. I hope everyone gets this book when it comes out.

Off I go to clean the office.
