sometimes the business end of my art gets very frustrating and depressing.

writing and drawing books is my living now, my career, one that chose me more than i chose it. despite the fact that money is involved and i have bills to pay, yadda yadda, its more of a creative expression than a commercial venture. i dont want finances to govern my decisions.

but now i have lawyers, publishers, investors and marketing people all up my ass with suggestions and direction. a lot of the beauty and fun of the process has been killed off in efforts to make these books into "properties" that will earn people returns and bank money.

i know, its the real world, and i'm too deep in it to get out. i can just hope to attain a level of success that enables me to call all the shots in the future.
