What's up, yo? So...yeah. I seem to be getting on here less and less lately. Things have been busy.

School is off to a roaring start. I guess I should explain what I'm going for. Music has always been my life, and I was leaning towards going back to school to teach music, but I decided to follow a different dream. I'm actually enrolled in a broadcasting school to work in radio, but I'll also learn the TV side too. Everything from on air to production. It's a 10 month gig, so I'll graduate in August 2008. All of my teachers are currently in the business and I've already made a couple of connections. If all goes well, then within the next couple of weeks I'll be interning at the college's internet radio station. I'll actually have an air shift during the week. In January, I'l start an externship with a radio station in town. From there, I'll start to put together my demo and could end up anywhere in the country next fall. With HD radio coming soon, internet radio, satellite, and podcasting, the opportunities are endless. The school places in the high 80 percent range as far as job placement for graduates. I have an incredible chance to succeed, IF I put in the hard work. So far, so good. I've given 2 speeches in the last 2 weeks and gotten A's. We hit the studios next week to start learning the equipment and editing sysytems.

Now...I'm getting a little support. My girlfriend is waaaay excited. She doesn't understand why I didn't do this years ago. She's been amazing. I really wouldn't be doing this without her encouragement. I have a buddy I've known for over 20 years backing me as well. He's actually going to start classes there early next year! He understands the dream. My daughter is stoked too. I wish I could say the same for my mom and the rest of my family. No one has really said anything to me about it, but I can tell when it comes up in conversation that it's not a popular choice. My mom didn't even acknowledge it until my second week started. I was pretty hurt that she didn't seem to care and was kinda cold with her. It wasn't until my girlfriend had a heart to heart with her that she actually showed an interest...sort of. Aside from that one time, she hasn't been interested. You know...nothing I've done has ever been right in my mom's eyes and I've let her take quite a few of my dreams away from me. Not this one. Not this time.

So...yeah. The weekend is here and my girlfriend is gone for a couple of days. It sucks, but she'll be home on Sunday, so I can't complain too much. My daughter and I have lots planned for this weekend, so she'll keep me pretty busy. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Later...

Ok, you were right. I really think though, that this is the perfect fight to highlight why the scoring system needs to be changed.

Evans took him down at will but Bisping also got up at will and this should count for something. On the odd occassion when Evans managed to keep him down, he did fuck all with the position.

Obviously, at the end of the fight, I knew Bisping had lost but that doesn't mean that Evans deserved to win. We really need a scoring system where how good the guy does on the deck counts. Bisping was controlling much of the fight from the ground. All credit to Rashad though, he knew what it would take to get a win and did that and nothing more.

I think what we need is for a decent amount of ex-fighters to become judges, then they can be more in tune with the action. Unfortnately, I dont expect there's much money in it.

Changing the subject, this was the first time I'd seen that new ref; he doesn't let them fuck about much huh? If they aren't doing anything, they're straight up or seperated. I like him. biggrin
