Tonight was one of those nights where my dad decided to have a serious talk with me about my life and my future, etc, etc...
Only, I wasn't up for it.
I have a teaching degree that I don't use. I've been in science-y classes for a couple of years now, thinking I'd eventually go into pharmacy. But then, a glitch happened. I ended up (7 mos ago) getting into a messy car accident, and breaking up with a b/f of 5 years and having to do lots of recovering from all of the above.
I took the summer off (from school) to 'find myself' or whatever. Well...I'm not 100% on my game yet, with regard to doing the 4.0 GPA 9 science lab credits and working 40 hours plus trying to maintain a marginal social life, and I guess family is seeing my world crumble to pieces...
but, my thought is they don't have to point it out quite yet.

I miss the good old days when a girl could go out to the bar and stay out all night without being accused of sabatoging her plans that are still 10 years away.

Oh well...enough complaining for one day. I'm sure tomorrow will start out much better, and we'll be back to the same old cycle...studying, drinking, studying, working, etc...

That's not a cool deal. I know my parents gave me the evil eye when I ditched my Air Force scholorship and traded my meteorology for a history degree and then used it to get a job at a hotel so that I could work on my friend's movie and website. Although after the suicide they eased up on the criticism a little bit. whatever
But you're definately right in that there is no need to get hyper about it. I mean, to me, if you're enjoying yourself and able to at least provide for yourself what more is there really to get worked up about? If you're not doing what you had orginally planned, all that means is that you changed your plans. There is no failure involved. Life is for living, not worrying about keeping score (money) or about following some script that was written years ago (career, degrees). The only thing that should make you worried is if you can't get up inthe morning and honestly say, "Hey, I think this is gonna be fun."
So, you know what? Tomorow, I think, is gonna be fun! smile
