Here's the flyer I designed for the Heavy Cream show next month. I went nuts with it, trying new shit and having fun:
I had a bunch of ideas that I scrapped, and then had the hardest time coming up with something that WOULD work, and word association games led me to strawberries and uh, the rest just...kind of came as I was drawing it. "HEY THIS STRAWBERRY NEEDS A BIG EYE IN THE MIDDLE, YEAH!" That's how art is made, kids.
I had never heard of the band before my friend told me about the show, but I really dig them. Here's a new song of theirs that I really love:
Also? Thanks for the comments on the last blog about my friend. I wanna try to get together with her sometimes soon and talk to her. Even if she has given up on applying for SG, I hope I can still collaborate with her and get her to model for me.
I've had this account for over a week! YAY! I was kind of concerned at first about whether or not getting it was a good decision, but now I'm pretty happy I got it. People here are pretty cool.
Finally, aside from making that flyer, this week has been lame and unproductive. I've spent most of the week feeling kind of sick and lame, and it seems my plan of finishing drawing chapter 3 of Other Sleep by this weekend will be a page or two short. My arm has been sore as hell too, which is annoying. Can't draw when you have to have ice on your wrist...
