A lot of firsts have happened thus far in 2012, but I have to say the two most uh, interesting? would be when I electrocuted myself back in January and when I got bitten by a jumping spider earlier this week. I feel cheated, though, because neither of these events granted me superpowers. What the hell?
I barely remember at this point how the electrocution felt. I just felt...drained, like the energy was sucked out of me, and I was breathing quickly and heavily for a while, and I think I was shaking a little like my nerves had been rattled.
The spider bite was more interesting. According to the internet and the fact that I'm still alive and healthy, a jumping spider's venom is not dangerous to people unless they're allergic to spider bites. I read that one only experiences a little minor skin irritation but not much else, like a bee sting or something, but I swear, I felt the venom slowly work its way from my hand (I got bit on the finger), up my arm, into my torso. It was WEIRD.
I wasn't COMPLETELY sure I was feeling it, because my arm and wrist and shoulder were already sore to begin with from the absurd amount of drawing I've been doing lately. My frail body is kind of a wreck.
Why am I writing about my idiotic injuries? I don't know. Time for a comic store trip.

I'm thinking that later this year I'm going to spill some science-y chemicals on myself, and/or get exposed to radiation. If neither of those works, then I guess I will never develop superpowers...
