I'm taking a break from studying to give you guys an update.
Had my last day at work today. It went by quick (I only did four hours so I could go to school and study). I also worked in a place that the costume is bad. People I usually work with were calling me "Grandma" and I felt and looked extemely frumpy!
I did a tad bit (itty bitty bit, like $10) worth of shopping at work, cause I don't know the next time I will be allowed on property (when you're on medical leave they don't really want you on property) and I saw some things for two people here that I wanted to get them. HAAA HAA You'll never know who!
My surgery is tomorrow at 9:30. I have to be at the surgery center at 8. The surgery is only going to take and hour and a half. The Dr. is basically going to cut two small insisions (think width of your pinky nail) in my shoulder and insert the scope in one and the tool thingy in the other. He's going to look around, make sure he was right, and if he was he'll re-attatch the tendon to the arm socket, and if not, close me up and make a new plan. Afterward I will have a thermos type thing that will pump ice water to a pad that will be sitting on my shoulder. I will not be able to feel my arm till late Friday night or early Saturday morning depending on how you look at it, as the anastesiologist (spelling?) will ask me if he can put a needle in my shoulder to make my arm numb and I will say yes (this is according to my Dr.) before he knocks me out.
My pain killers aren't too hard core, tylenol 3, (tylenol with codine) which if it doesn't put me to sleep will make me slightly zombie-ish and an ibprohen type medicine which will reduce the swelling. I will also be sleeping in the living room on the section of the couch that reclines. This also means that I will be sleeping by myself
, which I really don't like, but the Dr. didn't like the fact that I have a loft bed and told me no climbing. It's for the better though. Mnementh can be a slight violent in his sleep sometimes!
Well I think I'm going to get back to studying. I'm hoping I'm going to do alright on my test tonight. Wish me luck.
Oh, and I am planning on spending Saturday in my jamies watching the first 3 seasons of Scrubs. If anyone wants to join me, I can't promiss I'll be to entertaining but that's what the Scrubs are for!
P.S. I will not be able to use my right arm at all for a few days, so I'll make sure Mnementh keeps you some what up to date.
