So as of tonight I will working without a union contract, which could possibly mean some fucked up shit at work. The best part you ask? We (teamsters local 495, the people that run the rides at Disneyland) have no idea what's going on. The People at in charge of the union haven't told us what's going on, we're supposed to vote on something on Saturday or Sunday (but that's just a rumor), but no one knows on what. Ugg it's making me crazy. From the sounds of it, it looks like we're going to strike because Disney is pretty much asking/telling us to bend over and take it. We don't want to strike (the last one was in 82, or 83), Disney can't really afford for us to strike because their office people (who have been being trained on our rides for the past few months) can't hack, at all and don't like being with the guest, and spring break has already started (not for me, but they don't care, I still have 49 hours in 7 days, my next day off is the 24th my last was the 10th). It's starting to stress me out alot because I need to know if I need to find temporary work or not worry. I just wish someone would step up and tell us what's going on. Ugg...
But at least there is hope. From the way things have worked out I will be in San Fransico on my first day off. I work till 2:30 on Thursday, then go to class, come home wait for our roomie to get done with class then drive up there, getting there late Thursday night, early early Friday morning! I'll be in SF till sometime on Monday. Hurray for mini vacations!
But wait there's more good news!
On that Sunday (the 26th) I will be shooting a set with the lovely brocklee!! So hopefully soon you will be seeing me in all my wonderful glory!
