I read something in someone's journal that talked about their irritation with the 'new and improved' pitch for advertising, it made me think of something....When I first developed some sort of awareness.
Remember when Andy Rooney was on 60mins? Maybe he still is, but by all accounts the man should be dead by now. Well, anyway he did a piece on the foolishness of consumer goods being marked 'new and improved', he made the same points about if it is new it never existed so it can't be improved, and if it is improved, why do they continue to sell the old ones? Well, I am not sure how old I was, certainly not much more than 6 or 7, but it was like some awakening for me...I started asking a lot of questions about the products i saw in stores and about why the president was on television..i wanted someone to explain to me why there was hours of news coverage about a wall being torn down and who the man with the red mark on his head was. I guess I owe my politcal awareness and in sort my career path to Andy Rooney..so on that note..Mr. Rooney I thank you
