the quarter has officially kicked off, friday is the first test and it is all fast paced and downhill from there. Went out to dinner with a friend last night. It was only a couple hours and then back to studies, but it was nice. 
Soooo I am interning at the prosecutor's office, and I kinda hate it. I like that it is more laid back than i had thought, and I like that it so fast paced. I don't like how the employees treat the public, and I don't like the nagative attitudes.
I am so affected by the attitudes of those around me, that it is going to be a constant struggle to stay positive
I think there is so much opportunity to change lives for the better, yet the place contiues to run like a political machine. I am a social worker and can't stand to see people's needs being ignored so that the rich get richer I am tired of being told I am just naive and that over time i will harden. I hope i never become numb, I hope I never harden to the feelings and needs of those around me 
Just a note, if you are ever in a position where you are working with poor people, don't assume they are stupid and don't talk to them like they are beneath you...chances are they know much more than you...including that you are speaking to them like they are idiots!!

As for the Prosecutor's Office...I say that is definitely a place that will rob you of everything human if you let it. Like being in a war zone or New Orleans or in a county agency as a social worker...you are definitely on the front lines.
