Who invented Pixie Stix, and how did they come to exist? I have a hypothesis:
One day, a bunch of people decided to start a candy company. They bought some factory space and ordered a whole lot of sugary ingredients. They got to the factory, set the ingredients out on the table, and started brainstorming about the different kinds of candies they could make with these sugary delectables.
But... they all came down with a case of inventor's block. They couldn't come up with a single kind of candy to make that wasn't already being made.
One of them went out for lunch, thinking that maybe some food would get their creative juices flowing. He came back with food and drinks for all, and after they finished eating, they went back to the brainstorming table. One of the guys was fiddling with the wrapper from his straw, and started pouring the ingredients into it. He then dumped them all into his mouth.
Thus, Pixie Stix were born - a new plage unleashed upon the teeth of America.
