Florida Vacation - Day 5
What a day. :]
My parents got up at 6am, but I slept in til 7. I had taken a shower the night before so I didn't need much time to get ready. My sister decided to sleep for as long as possible and ended up making us pretty late. We drove to Universal, parked and that's when the fun began. No sarcasm. :]
We walked down this long corridor to get to the park, but before we were even through the main gate, there were a bunch of shops, restaurants and photo op places. I kept having to stop and wait for my parents to catch up, but that gave me a lot of time to take pictures of a bunch of things. We had to walk through the Dr.Suess attraction, then one for The Lost City or something and then, as I rounded a corner, I saw the front of the Howarts Express and made a beeline right for it with a big smile on my face. I took a few pix and then lined up to have a pic taken with the conductor. Not too long after, the rest of my family caught up and we headed into the park. We didn't get too far in before we came across a little stand selling Butterbeer. The had original and frozen and I made the mistake of getting frozen. The first several sips were good, but it kinda lost it's flavour like a slushie. We then made our way through the park while I was taking pix of just about everything. lol. Once I felt I had enough pix for the time being, we all decided to go on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see like half of it. The only rides I can relate it to are The Tower of Terror from MGM Studios and 3D attractions and Thunder Run from Canada's Wonderland. Basically, you get strapped into seats in rows of 4 and then you're off "flying" with Harry around the Hogwarts grounds, but you get chased by a dragon and then end up in the forbidden forest and run into all the spiders and then some other stuff and then you're on the Quidditch pitch, but Demontors come and try to take your soul and whatever. I realized it was all fake, but it's still freaky to have a dragon breathe "fire" in your face or come within inches of huge spiders, so I hid my eyes for most of the middle part. I'm gonna try and go on it again and actually see everything, but I'll see if that happens. lol. After that, we went to grab some food at the Three Broomsticks and then I wanted to wait in line to get a wand. Unfortunately, I didn't get picked to have a wand choose me, but I did get to see a couple of boys get theirs and then was able to choose my own. They had wands that correspond to various dates, so I choose to go with my birthday. Then, my dad and I decided to go on Dragon Challenge. It's these 2 roller coasters that run at the same time and interact a bit. It was pretty decent and I was actually kinda dizzy when I got off it. lol. I had found out ealier that there with these 2 small performances that took place 30 mins apart every half hour; the Hogwarts choir and dancers from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. I watched one show, went to buy a hoodie and then came back to watch another. I ended up riding Dragon Challenge one more time, in the front while taking a video. By that point, everyone was pretty much worn out, so we made out way back to the car.
I had mentioned a couple times that I wanted to go to The Cheesecake Factory at some point during our trip and since it had been several hours since we ate, we decided to go there for a small snack and piece of cheesecake. Once we were there though, it seemed like we all were hungrier than we thought, so we all got a full meal and dessert. However, Lacey and I didn't finish our cakes, so we got them to go. On the way home, I ended up snoozing in the car a bit. I was gonna do just a little work out with the weight machine, but it's 11pm and I'm starting to get tired again. So, I think I'm just gonna play some Bejeweled, maybe read, then go to bed.
It's supposed to be just slightly cooler tomorrow than it was today, so as far as I know, the plan is to just re-coop from today, maybe sit by the pool, depending on how cool the breeze is and just kinda see where the day takes us.
