Yes, too many songs and ideas that needed pursuing blew the top right off the popper -- so:
- Guitarist Igor (Michael Woodman) has dedicated himself to the absolutely marvelous and brilliant "Thumpermonkey" (www.thumpermonkey.com), who release debut PIGHEART on Tapewyrm Records.
- Bassist Henderson K. Shatner has formed the modestly named "The Henderson Shatners" and release debut album 'Henderson' on Tapewyrm Records. (www.thehendersonshatners.com).
- Shatner's bluegrass-inspired melodic acoustic side project 'Telford Mining Disaster', with John Waring (The Milburns), has two tracks included on the Tapwyrm Records SEGMENTS: VOLUME ONE compilation and ten songs in the hopper for mid-2005 release on Tapewyrm and acoustic shows in mid to late 2005.
- ... and finally, Mr. Waring joins Brand Violet to fill the void created by Igor's departure, while the lovely and talented Stuart Perry assumes the throne behind the pagan skins. And beat them, he will.
After one rehearsal, the new lineup have recorded two new tracks which will complete Brand Violet's second album, tentatively entitled 'Akathisia.' Released on Tapewyrm Records in early 2005. Plans are for the first pressing to be free (pay shipping only) to the public, or 5 for industry. Finally, a sensible pricing structure.
With Brand Violet set to play only live shows 'that matter,' according to a band spokesperson, make sure you see them when you can!
