So, I went to a convention for something I don't really like all that much, Anime. I go because
a) my friends like anime
b) I like conventions, any huge gathering themed on something nerdy.
(Though, I don't know if I could stand a Star Trek convention)
c) It's friggin' Dallas, Texas.
d) I can buy all kind of kick ass foreign (non-anime) flicks.
Though, this year, I've found a very commanding 'e)'. To my super-suprise my buddy Taylor
told me there was a Suicide Girls booth, so I figured I'd try my best to appear non-creepy and saunter on by to see what was up with them. However, just being a member of this site made me a very minor minority of the convention goers(maybe more than the fact that I don't like anime). It was interesting to see Hentai booths packed with people, but those same 'virile' males were afraid to walk by real girls that have anything to do with nudity. Though, a huge difference is one is art and one often involves rape with tentacles(interesting idea for a set, eh?). Anyway, the Suicide Girls made me feel welcomed, remembered my face, my name, tried to sign every thing I had, almost started signing stuff that had nothing to do with them. For me, it's so much better to meet iconic people because I find things so much more intriguing when i see just how real and tangible they are, and not just pictures on the computer. Anyway, this has turned into much more of a 'blog' than a story, and although it's much more title appropriate, I'd rather end it than ramble on any more.
