School is over!! I am so excited I cant stop saying it! So I got up early and went to my last final exam Friday past. I was finished in 30 minutes. On the way home I wanted to go to the bookstore where I accidentally bought a dirty sex book, but they were closed. I knew they would be. I came home and sat down at the computer, determined to update properly and catch up on all the comments and emails I am behind in. However, as nothing came to mind, I decided I was just too tired to do any writing, especially with the numb yet burning feeling that has plagued my hands, wrists, and forearms since having my ass kicked with writing this semester. I sat there at my desk looking at all the papers and books spread out all over the place, which I needed to clean upbut didnt.
I went downstairs and cranked up the stereo and
Instead I was compelled to do all of the dishes in the sink and then take everything, I mean everything, out of the refrigerator and scrub it. I washed all the shelves and drawers. I wiped off bottles and jars of condiments. I even cleaned the cracks of the seal around the door. After I put all the shelves and drawers back there was a long piece of metal left over. I tried to figure out were it came from, but I couldnt. I had to get my roommate to fix it later after he got home from work.
After my refrigerator cleaning escapade I decided to read a book I have been looking at since the semester started. I got about three pages into The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova before sleepiness took over. I took a nice nap for about an hour and then lay on my bed for another hour waking up. My dog is such a good snuggler, which reminds me of how my aunt from Taiwan would always call my dog my log because thats how she pronounced dog, but my dog really is like a log when she is sleeping. She doesnt move, she somehow takes over the bed, and snores. I love my log.
After that I didnt do much of anything, because I had a weird feeling of nothing pressing I had to do, nothing to be responsible for. Nothing!! So I went outside and played basketball with my dog. She ran through the garden a few times, but didnt hurt anything.
Speaking of garden, I dont care if I bore the hell out of you all, but I love to grow things. So far all I have in the garden this year are snap peas, rhubarb, strawberries, some renegade pumpkins, and gladiolas. Over in the compost pile I have a ton of tomatoes coming up and something unidentifiable. I think it might be a squash of some kind. I was too busy to start seeds this spring, so I need to run out to the farm supply down the road and pick up some tomatoes and basil. What else should I grow? In the front yard, I have tons of blooms coming out on the rose bushes, azaleas, tulips, and irises. The astilbe and lilies are getting really tall, but not in bloom yet. There are still snakes everywhere, but I like having them around.
Inside my house is like a jungle! It takes me over two hours to water all of my plants. I swear I hate it sometimes, but then a little baby plant breaks off and I grow it, because I feel so bad if I just let it die. It is out of control, especially with people bringing me brown sticks to nurse back to health for them.
Anyway, later on Friday it was so nice out that I went about riding my bike like a maniac! I hate riding my bike in the daylight for some weird reason, but after the sun goes down look out! I rode around the neighborhood and then cut through some bushes and went around to this place where I go a lot. It is a business area, so it is deserted at night. It has all these fun places to ride your bike on. Lots of kids go there to skate. I like to ride the bike standing up and on that night I was sitting on the seat (obviously) and when I went to stand up my sweatpants got caught on the seat and the seat pulled them down!! It was so funny. No one saw. I need to wear jeans when riding from now on so they wont get pulled down and I wont get skinned so easy when I wipe out!
Then I went home and read my book some more and then off to bed because I had to get up early for work on Saturday morning.
