Week from hell..clients in town who I know want nothing
but some free meals and a nice hotel room. They've no in-
tentions of doing business with us in the future.
Sprinkler pipe busted in front of house and driveway saturated. Called homeowners association and said would be
2 weeks before someone came out. Remind me why I pay
homeowners dues again?
Check engine light...

biggrin @ "sat down and read the US tax code." I had a Poli-Sci professor tell our class some outright lies about the top ten percent paying less than their share of the tax burden. His figures sounded a little nuts to me...so I looked them up. Total bullshit.

Recommended films: "Blood Simple" and "High Plains Drifter"
yes,oldies but still goodies..
New TV show: "Point Pleasant"..any show that involves hot
teenage girls possessed by the devil is alright w/me..
Tomorrow in Tampa is the Gasparilla Festival..pretty lame in
my opinion, it's a Mardi Gras lite, but it does provide me
another reason to drink heavily so I'll go for a few hours.

I really appreciated what you had to say on the fired-for-smoking thread as well. It seems like you left the thread, but you seemed to have many reaonable things to say. Most of the comments seem to be coming from people who have never owned a business, ran a business or even been in management. It's good perspective to see.

Btw, you have great taste in music, but you don't seem to be to fond of KU basketball.

Off to gay Paris later today..me and the grrl-friend.
Given state of Franco-US relations may not be too
wise, but these plans were made 2 years ago before
the Iraq War. Paris is a beautiful city, been there once
before but only for 1 day.
Later this week, all should mourn the death of Joe Strummer,
who died quite suddenly 2 years ago. He was a...

I'm just surprised that the UK Leftists on SG haven't mentioned "Britain's Abu Ghraib" - which has been dominating the news here...(photos of a squadie punching a looter).

I love it how the UK media and the "Arab Street" go into paroxisms of shock and anger over pictures of a soldier punching a looter or playing nude sticklebricks with detainees, but write off suicide bombings as a natural effect of Bush & Blair's invasion...

Has SG Cons reversed its slide into Political Correctness? Is it still an autocracy? Would I have to watch my mouth to avoid being zotted by its owners?

THE DAY I DIED

One year ago today, I had a life-changing experience. My
appendix burst and I almost died..in fact my heart stopped
beating for a few seconds and I was clinically dead. I would
have died had I not been in the hospital and on my way to
the operating room. For those who have ever had appendi-
citis, you may be familiar...

You're on the list!!
If you got this message, it means that you expressed interest in Bucky's idea for the CD swap, but haven't responded yet (as far as I know). This is your wake up call, email Bucky with your info NOW!! Otherwise you will suffer the consequences and they will be dire consequences indeed! This is a great idea and should be ten buckets of fun, so get your ass over to Bucky's profile and send him an email with answers to the questions he asked in the CD SWAP thread. That is all, you are now dismissed.

This was my first full work week since I got in my
motorcycle accident in April..buried in work, of course
noone did any of it while I was gone.
I guess I will be staying in Florida for a while, despite
the fact that I missed 8 months of work and my company
had to pay long term disability and 1/2 my pay ..they
offered...

This weekend I got around to doing something I rarely
do..watch more then 1 hour of TV daily.
Right now I'm watching an American classic.."The Good,The
Bad and the Ugly"..Clint Eastwood at his best. I got "The Man
With No Name" DVD trilogy about 1 1/2 years ago and today took it out of the plastic for the first time. It's 1am on Sat.
nite...

I apologize for not updating in a while..been busy. We got hit
by Hurricane Jeanne and I lost power for 1 week. I was in
California ,then heard Jeanne was going to hit, flew back,
and lost my power. I should have stayed in California.
In other news,in California I bought a new motorcycle..I got
in a accident in April which totalled my other one,so

Yeah, don't exactly envy your situation with five billion hurricanes (give or take) flying around l'il old Florida. About the only thing I really need to worry about is the rare tornado whipping through the actual city of Minneapolis (never happens) and slipping on the ice in the winter. It's pretty easy living up here in that regard. I'll take it!

"Mr. Show" of late! I got out and saw the Franz Ferdinand show shit... almost two weeks ago now. shocked Not much of my palate has come through of late. I feel a need for more live music in big clubs.

October 22-24 ~ Up in northern Minne visiting folks
November 5-7 ~ In Madison Wisconsin for Gopher/Badger game (tix pending)
November 11-14 ~ PDX

In regards to Wolves tix, no problem. I actually split season tickets with a friend. Let me know when you're in, and if I haven't already laid claim to it, I can swap. Problem is I only have two. So if you're with a buddy and want more then just a ticket for yourself, you'll just have to hit the box office.

Let me know!

Lately all talk has been about hurricanes..I went back to LA last Thursday to see my family and friends
and have the same doctor who did surgery on my knee in college look at it
this time. Had to come back Sunday because of Ivan..it never hit us but hit
N. Florida and Alabama..I'm sure some have seen the devastation on the news.
American football...

I just got back from NYC and have to deal w/Frances. I still have all my sandbags and canned food from Charley..I spent all day preparing ,but
they're saying we should only get high
winds and flooding..I live in a flood
zone so I'm worried. The East Coast( Miami,W. Palm Beach) are getting hammered. Power has already gone off once here, wish me luck

I survived the hurricane but as I'm sure
many have seen on the news, some fellow Floridians in Punta Gorda did not.
A simple shift in winds caused it to hit
Punta Gorda when it should have hit
Tampa. Tampa got lucky,I'm sure my house would have been destroyed.
Next time I'm leaving the state until
the hurricane is over with.

As many have probaly heard,Tampa
is bracing for a massive hurricane. Having lived in California, more used to
earthquakes but this is my lot.
I fought crowds at market buying water.
canned goods,batteries,etc..
Spent about 4 hours filling sandbags, which is hard work ,especially after knee surgery.
My house sits on a lake which has to rise about 6 feet before flooding but there is
a manmade...

The eye is healing nicely - still a little redness and double vision...plus (and this is really gross) I can feel the stiches when I look left and right!

As for Blair - well...there's an election on the way and I guess he'd rather spend the money bribing the UK electorate rather than shooting foreigners...
