So............today I get home from work and there's a shut-off notice neatly attached to my door from the city (this is the second one), seems I had a lapse in memory and forgot to pay the bill, well, these notices are basically a 12x6 paper sticker that lets the whole niehborhood know you are a deadbeat and can't pay your bills, and you literally have to scrape the remains of it off your door with a razor blade.
So, in a moment of genius, I removed the partially stuck notice from my door, hurried down to city hall with notice in hand, and proceeded to walk to the counter and payed my bill, As the woman turns to stamp by bill paid, I remove the backing from the sticker and apply it with a loud thud, on the separating window where the woman is standing and give her a big smile, and I say, "when you get that off your window, send someone to my house, the rest of it is stuck to my door, have a nice day!" and I turned and walked out.
The moral of the story kids, pay your water bill every month or the shut off-notice fairy will de-face your house, because they can.
