So, I didn't go to Athens this weekend for any of the festivities or even the Shellac show. I'm really dissapointed in myself. 
I also did not attend the Joy Division vs. The Smiths tribute at the Echo or the MC5 show at the Echo on Sunday. I was pretty lame. 
Public transit can be so depressing sometimes, actually it seems more surreal than anything. It feels like I'm in some movie about human desperation and defeat. It hit me when I was sitting at the bus stop by the gym and it started to rain. It was just such a scripted moment. Even riding the bus for all of 5 minutes was a drag. One good thing that comes from it is that I get to see my MARTA crush a couple of times a week. Both of our destinations are at the same station, but we board different shuttles to get to work. Story of my life.
Was rewatching Night on Earth tonight. Super good movie by Jim Jarmush (Down by Law, Ghost Dog, Coffee & Cigarettes, etc...). Also caught Dirty Pretty Things and Bubba Ho-Tep this weekend. DPT was great, Bubba was lacking in certain areas, but a great concept for a movie, just needed to move a little faster at points.

Missing a good concert is one of the most painful parts of life, besided riding the bus. On the plus side, you can rationalize that you are totally trying to be kind to the environment, yeah, that's why you are riding the bus
