At her request, i turn from despair...

Last night I couldn't sleep. I walked out into my living room and wrote on this site and read Alex Robinson's new book for a while. When it seemed like I should really get to bed, I walked into my room and I sat down on my bed (at the time, a futon pad on the floor). I pulled the covers back, she was facing away from me, wearing only a pair of aquamarine colored mesh panties. I pulled her into me when I got in the bed, her skin was like therapeutically-warmed towel, gently placed on my body to stimulate the nerve endings in my skin. She was sort of awake and rolled over to look at me, her body, face up, her breasts flattened by gravity yet still drawing my attention. She talked to me for about a half hour, helping me relax until I could fall asleep.

I think that's all I'm looking for in a relationship right now maybe. It's funny to me that she and I are even still together now, coming up on four months. I find the honesty between us is refreshing and odd, probably the only reason we are still together. The feeling, is one I am not entirely used to: contentment. Whatever it is that happens when she and I are together, I'm ok with it, y'know?

I want to tell stories similar in quality to Joy Division or the Misfits "Walk Among Us" album. How many books or movies or comics can you check out and just be bashed over the fucking head by? Very few works of storytelling can match the sheer power, conception and uniqueness that certain albums can attain. I'd love to read a comic that was as good as the "first" Misfits album.

can we go to a poetry night and read Misfits lyrics when I'm up there?

my musical storytelling influences are more in the vein of Nick Cave/Lucero/old country songs. and of course, Tom Waits.

it's like I said yesterday: sometimes you just need someone to be there.
