tonight was fun. tonight was the kinda night at manray that reminds me why i go out dancing every fucking saturday night without fail. dj gumbercules knew i was in a bouncy mood, so he just rattled out so many high-energy songs that i ended up sitting out only about five or six songs all night. crazy. it's still difficult dancing in sneakers, i really need to get off my ass and find a new pair of boots... maybe i should get some classy dress shoes as well, but my feet are just too damn big.
i just rocked the crap out of two tequito's i got from seven eleven tonight. so good. plus some snapple and i grabbed some ice cream as well, because i've been dying for somethin sweet ever since the pants reneged on his promise to make me cake in exchange for two stamps (i totally gave him the stamps).
this morning, i tried banana pancakes for the first time. i'd swear that god himself came down from heaven to prepare these pancakes. amazing.
dinner tonight was at charley's kitchen in cambridge, which is easily one of my favorite places to eat in this city. i had shown up at the request of kay_ to assist her in a school project involving punk and the people who are into it (some might call them "punks"). i brought the pants along with me, just in case it ended up being totally not fun
.
well, as usual, i was completely wrong and kay_, her sister sapphic_plastic and their friend arika ended up being more fun than two barrels of monkeys at a circus. which is to say, they were fun and the pants and i had a great time kickin' back with them. as arika seemed to be in the grips of a deadly plague, she declined our invitation to join us at manray, but in the interests of fun kay_ and sapphic_plastic joined us.
and, as i covered earlier, manray was a blast.

i finally saw VERTIGO today.
great film. a bit twisted. very slow moving.
i'm looking forward to seeing ROPE again next weekend.

i drew from a model for the first time in almost a year last night. the drawing is way too big to scan & post, but suffice to say, i still have some modicum of talent and i think if i try to draw a lot over the summer, i can hone my skills in this area to a razor sharp point.
being able to draw from life is very important for a comics artist. you need that intimate understanding of how people move so you can draw on your subconscious to move your "actors" and stage your scenes.
once again, if anybody who lives around me is interested in modeling, let me know. male or female. i have no money. but, if you like any of the drawings i do, i'll get copies made for you. also, i know i'm a charming and dashing young artist, but don't fall in love with me
. this is not a way to seduce people, i prefer to seduce my lovers through the power of dance!

anybody else like walking back into their bedroom, from the bathroom in the early morning, and suddenly remembering you had a girl in your bed and then, when you get back into bed, you find out they are totally naked and really warm, almost like an organic-electric-blanket?
that shit is so rad.

oh and one more thing, how awesome is kay_?
kay_ is so awesome, that she entered "smash it up" by the damned into the juke box, mere moments after i had entered "smash it up" by the damned into the very same juke box; completely unaware that i had done it too! so, as we were hanging out, we got to hear "smash it up" twice!
she also played "mother" by danzig, which immediately set off my danzig radar.
(my other two picks were "new rose" and "history of the world, pt. 1" by the damned).
that is all for now, ice cream, about 11 minutes of some movie, then bed.
updated to let you all know that i fully intend to listen to the punk rock, at a loud volume, for the next five hours. first up:

I am SO awesome that I am wearing my brand new Cramps shirt and rocking out to The Supremes at this very moment!
Vertigo is such a great movie. The animated part at the end when he goes insane amuses the hell out of me, though not as much as James Stewart's eyeliner. I can't decide if it is completely jarring and rediculous or very effective.
Let me know if you're ever in Providence. I'd say I like the music at club hell better on rock'n'roll high school/ 80's nights. The people at Manray are definitely much cooler and the dance floor is less packed.
