i decided today, while wondering the aisles of THE ART STORE (which, on a side note, has been purchased by DICK BLICK, a far superior store that i have missed ever since the one back home got knocked out of business by a fucking discount arts and crafts store where fucking soccer moms went shopping to do their "scrap-booking"
and whenever i had to get art supplies, i could no longer talk to a clerk who knew what they were talking about, it was all:
me: hey, i need ONE-SHOT SIGN ENAMEL, where could i find it?
them: what? are you sure that exists?
or
me: hey, i need a Pantone Matching Book, where could I find it?
them: a what? are you sure that exists?
so, anyway, THE ART STORE is now owned by DICK BLICK, which is extra cool because it has "DICK" in the name and you can laugh about that) so, anyway, i'm wandering the aisles listening to "Poor Girl" by X on my headphones and i'm thinking "i swear to crap, i could sit down and cry right here, that's how good this song is. there is enough soul in this song to fill an ocean and still have enough left over to heat up some ramen" and i was pretty psyched about that, then i got to thinking about how it's pretty funny that i am a hopeless romantic at the same time as i am a cynical punk, so what basically happens is a part of me is longing for something uncertain that i can never attain and the other part knows it wouldn't work anyway so he thinks its lame.
i got tons of drawing implements and some cheap paper. i am gonna do lots of drawing. what is it about buying art supplies in mass quantities that makes one so happy?

I find it really amusing that you have jan and egon on your favorite artists list. What kind of graphic design do you do?
