...listening to JOY DIVISION before i get some sleep. work was alright today, i started trying to get myself organized. all of the equipment i ordered should be in this week and i'll move my workstation downstairs so i can have more space to organize the various projects they have me doing.
i got a pile of comics in the mail this week. the 7th and 8th TRANSMET trades, an issue of BI-POLAR and two of warren ellis' APPARAT books. fucking glorious.
one of the two books (ANGEL STOMP FUTURE) features artwork by Juan Jose Ryp. he is a demented and talented madman. holy shit is his book beautiful. if he ever had a good, subtle colorist working with him, his work would catch the page on fire.
i love good comics.
ANGEL STOMP FUTURE # 1 is better than almost an entire year's worth of Marvel Comics' current output.

my drawing is coming along all right. there is just never enough time in the day. i like that i labored for a couple of days trying to get the desk and environment just right and then i was able to snap-out a woman to sit on the desk in under two hours. i am MUCH faster than i used to be (and i even feel like i'm lagging, still). i like where this is going, hopefully i can discipline myself further and cultivate a will that makes me a slave to the drawing table.
i got a flash of inspiration last night and worked out a "death scene" in the horror graphic novel that i am currently plotting. it involves a guy being stabbed with a broad-sword while ripping out a zombie's eyeball. i can't help but think that it was inspired by my girfriend (thanks luv)!
i started reading MEDIA CONTROL by noam chomsky last night. its very basic so far, i had assumed chomsky would be a "stuffy" writer, but he's actually pretty clear and easy to follow. i'm cruising through it at the moment, hopefully he hits some deeper content in the later chapters.
i intend to alter american media.
its just a matter of time and planning right now.

Fantasy in progress. Know where I can find a legion of necromancers?
We're working on getting me there by mothers day, but the lingest I'm willing to wait is camping. I HAVE to be back by camping.
