TONIGHT, I REEK OF AWESOMENESS (and boy sweat, but mostly awesomeness).

I went dancing at Manray tonight and for the first time in recent memory (probably in a few years) when faced with a girl so interesting and attractive to me that I literally followed her around the club to watch her dance, I did the unthinkable...

I WENT UP AND TALKED TO HER.

now, last time I was at Manray (for miss SID's birthday) I watched this girl dance for more than half an hour and was completely incapable of even thinking about going to speak to her. after two or three blown opportunities and silly bouts of nervousness, I'm pretty much just said "fuckit" and told her flat out that I really enjoyed watching her dance and had spent roughly 45 minutes as a spectator. Her reply: "I'm sorry. Did you get bored?"

anyway, before this turns into a long damn, every-detail-anal-jordan-can-remember story, the girl wasn't a stuck-up goddess, she was a bit shy but very friendly. y'never know right? and the cool part is that when the discussion turned to punk rock (as it ALWAYS seems to do with me) I discovered that she had been listneing to the Anti-Nowhere League earlier in the day. Righteous.

Anyway, here's the closer: she broke off our conversation to go dance to Joy Division (and rightfully so), at the end of the night (after a righteous like a motherfucker bout of dancing to "Gave Up" by Nine Inch Nails) she said she wanted to hear the rest of the story I'd started pre-Joy Division, asked if I'd be back next week, and said I should feel free to talk to her.

So... here's the question: is she interested in me but a little shy or does she have a boyfriend and is just interested in talking punk with me? (My two cents: she was talking with a boy for a little bit but I had never seen her with one previously; also she got kinda nervous when I talked to her and apologised for sweating -- which was funny since I was sweating worse and we were both dancing for the last hour).

Anyway, advise me, this is what I pay you people for.

*** end addition ***

i'm back! pennsylvania's attempts at holding me for longer than four days were fruitless and wasted. no less than four people tried to talk me into either A: staying in PA for the summer and working for them or B: opening my (eventual) design and publishing studio in Northeastern Pennsylvania instead of Boston. it was all very nice to see that i had an effect on many folks from back home, but i'll let the Stiff Little Fingers (the greatest songwriters in the universe) field this one:

"You know there ain't no place like home; to make you feel so all alone; so many folk'll tell you what to do; but they don't speak the same language as you."

Some brief highlights (possibly to be expanded upon sometime other than now):

1. I got the first of my "free massages for life" from Brandon's sister (who I designed a logo and identity for over last Christmas). It was awesome. She asked me to strip down to my underwear and get under the sheet on the table, but of course, I don't wear underwear...

2. Brandon calls his sister from my house to schedule the massage for the next day, he's on the cell phone with her, yelling at me from downstairs, I'm in the bathroom getting ready to take a post-karate shower, I open the door and walk into the hall to answer him, only to realize that he IS NOT downstairs, he is in the hallway, and exploding into fits of laughter because I have just walked out of the bathroom completely naked while casually answering his question.

3. I train with my first/original/true instructor for the first time since I've started training really serious in Taekwondo. All of my doubts about my own skills are erased, all of my doubts about my current school are brought glaringly into the spotlight. You just can't fake the real thing.

4. I danced with a forty or fifty year old woman I'd never seen before in my life to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" at Brandon's parents 25th Anniversary party. I asked Brandon who she was, figuring she was probably a relative, and was told: "She came with the band."

5. I spend all day Sunday defending Michael Moore to my Dad who suddenly has an opinion on him now that there is a controversy (he thinks he should be deported NOW he had no problem with buying me Stupid White Men TWO YEARS AGO). Never, ever, ever trust a republican. Or a democrat. Fuck everyone who thinks politics aren't a sham. I spent all night Sunday with my Mom and Brandon, watching and then discussing Fahrenheit 9/11. I have no idea how my parents ever managed to be married for the 12 years that they were together.

6. I fell asleep watching a movie at 12:20. That sucked.

7. I missed seeing MURPHY'S LAW and IGNITE at a club that my "adopted" little brother does security for. If he would have called me to tell me about the show, I could've easily come home a day early. That WAY sucked.

8. On the drive back from PA to Boston, Brandon and I kicked out the jams old school and new school we listened to the following discs (in whole or part):

NIN (broken); TOOL (aenema); Type O Negative (bloody kisses); Superjoint Ritual (use once and destroy); Down (nola); Exploited (fuck the system); Stiff Little Fingers (nobody's heroes & go for it); Independents (live from murder beach,SC) ; and Pretty Girls Make Graves (good health).

Thats all, I'll be checking in on everybody tonight and tomorrow as time allows...
