so, lets see: skinny puppy were mothafuckin' amazing. not just amazing, or fucking amazing, but mothafuckin' amazing! were tallking fake blood, pounding industrial sounds, incredible visuals and performances, an all around good time. it felt like a mortal sin to part with this much cash for a show, but they really were worth 22 dollars (the 4 dollars i paid for a bottle of water is a whole other story). anyway, i know nothing about the band, but gumbercules wrote a very accurate review of the show in his journal.

i watched An American Werewolf in Paris tonight. it suddenly dawned on me that the movie contains everything that i want in a movie (except swords). there's a stupid hopeless romantic guy trying to get the girl (and not being able to take a hint) through the whole movie, there's a fairly good soundtrack (coincidentally enough involving skinny puppy and strangely enough a bit of ska), there is a staggering amount of people getting hit on the head, cheap gags are gone for at every opportunity, julie delpie's breasts, the idea implied that julie delpie's breasts can be used to calm down a man who has had a terrible hallucination, but most importanly its got... WEREWOLVES!!! woo hoo... now honestly, it doesn't even hold a candle to An American Werewolf in London, but i still totally appreciate it.

i got a fair amount of work done today. lost of boring stuff, spreadsheets and filing and project management. you never really think about what goes into a website until your ass-deep in it and trying to figure out how the hell you're gonna get the damn thing completed. i'm currently developing and designing a site for a client that is on scale (if not larger) than SG (but a completely different kind of site -- this is a retail webstore). you can only imagine the kind of work that goes into someting like this. and you really need to be impressed by sites like this one that are as fucking gorgeous as they are. its really easy to make a shitty website.

my hips and ankles still hurt, so i gotta take a hot shower and stretch before bed. you're all welcome to join me in the shower, i'll leave the door open.

gumbercules:
Trying to remember what visual props went with what songs... could be wrong here, but I think it was either "Tin Omen" or "Worlock". Either way, they're both on the same cd, "Rabies". Tin Omen opens up with a kind of guitar loop, and a vocal sample saying "all good people are asleep and dreaming", and has a really cool noise break in the middle with stuttering punk rock drums. Worlock is slower, and, dare I say it, prettier musically. Hope this helps. Glad you liked the show, and thanks for the compliments on my review!
