Just got back from seeing Clutch play two sets at the Matrix in Boston. I'm all sore everywhere, dancing at those metal shows is always brutal cuz the "tough" boys don't seem to like dancing as much as they like hitting each other. This was compounded by the fact that I ate a giant plate of mixed fried rice about a half-hour before I started dancing... now I'm all cramped up and unpleasant feeling.
Unfortunately this place, the Matrix, is a dance club and a dance club floor covered in beer and water is not the optimal place to be when you want to rock your ass off. Right as Clutch played the opening bits of PURE ROCK FURY ten to twelve of us fellows were preparing to rock out in the most fabulous ways imaginable when, in a bit of karmic hilarity, the guitars kick in, we all put on our mean "tough boy" faces AND TRIP ON THE BEER SOAKED FLOOR every last one of us ends up on our asses. It was the most anticlimactic rock-out moment in the history of mankind. Funny stuff.
