Is that your car? Is it a '69 (or thereabouts) golf? My mate learnt to drive on one of them... he and I had the two oldest cars in our year at school...

My mates was a '69 fastback. Maybe it wasn't a golf....sounded like it was powered by a sewing machine engine...good fun to drive! I'm not so much a VW fan as just a fan of old cars generally!
